GENERAL FAQs
-
Vehicles with a virtual parking permit will be able to use multiple “automated” beach access ramps. Each ramp will be equipped with LPR cameras that will read your license plate and automatically open the parking gate allowing you to quickly drive through onto the beach.
-
The daily beach driving fee is $30 per day (plus sales tax & any credit card fees) for any un-permitted vehicle. For quicker access to parking and to enjoy the beach, we strongly urge non-residents to apply online and purchase the new virtual parking permit. Volusia County residents should apply for their “no-cost” resident parking permit prior to parking.
-
The daily parking fee for off-beach parking locations is $20 per day (plus sales tax & any credit card fees) to park in any of the Park Volusia designated parking lots. Properly permitted vehicles will not have to pay the daily fee. County residents should apply for their annual “no-cost” parking permit prior to parking. Vehicles parked without a permit or daily fee payment will receive a parking violation on their windshield or in the mail.
-
Beach driving or parking in a Park Volusia lot requires visitors of Volusia County to pay a fee. Residents can apply for the annual Resident On/Off Beach permit at no cost. Non-residents can purchase an annual On Beach permit, Off Beach permit, or both. Beachgoers will no longer have the ability to apply/purchase an annual parking permit at beach toll booths, so apply online, in the Volusia County Beaches app, or visit a Park Volusia office. Parking programs maintained by municipalities (New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach) have separate processes and fees associated with parking lots.
-
Volusia County residents who register for the program will receive complimentary access to both off-beach parking in County-owned and operated lots and beach driving, requiring only a one-time registration. Non-Volusia County residents, however, must purchase two separate annual passes: one for off-beach parking at $100 and another for beach driving at $150.
-
Residents with state-registered handicapped license plates, including Disabled Veteran plates, or temporary handicapped placards should register their vehicles with ParkVolusia to access beach driving at automated beach ramps and to avoid fines at off-beach lots with license plate readers. Non-Volusia County persons with handicapped license plates, including Disabled Veteran plates, or placards qualify for waived off-beach parking and beach driving fees through program registration. The kiosks in the off-beach lots are unable to waive daily parking fees; however, the fine can be waived with appropriate documentation of a handicapped license plate, including a Disabled Veteran plate.
-
Annual Parking permits WILL NO LONGER be able to be purchased at beach entrance ramps. Annual permits can only be purchased online, in the Volusia County Beaches app, or by visiting a Park Volusia office during business hours. Daily passes can be purchased at the beach entrance ramps.
-
Park Volusia resident permits will auto-renew after year 1 and 2. Residents will need to go to Parkvolusia.org every 3 years to verify their account and re-register.
Non-resident beach parking permits must be renewed annually.
Online applications make the process quick and easy, provided you have the right documentation.
